ABSTRACT
Purpose: The purpose of this research was to see the association of drug knowledge, attitude, risk taking behaviour and spirituality in context of gender and family type.
Methods: A convenience sample of 547 undergraduate and post graduate students was recruited from a various colleges and university in across India. The researchers visited departments, interacted online with other faculties of various college and the university and conducted interviews with the respondents (students) in January to April 2023. The questionnaire and questions were explained to the participants, who then read it and marked their answers online on google sheet.
Results: Mean and t-test for the category of gender was significant only for risk taking behaviour. Mean and t-test for the category of family type was significant for all the variable including Drug Knowledge attitude and belief (DKAB), Attitude for Drug Use (ADU), Risk taking behaviour(RSQ), Spiritual wellbeing (SIW).
Conclusion: Risk taking behaviour of the females was high for the category of gender and family type did have a protective impact on Drug Knowledge attitude and belief (DKAB), Attitude for Drug Use (ADU), Risk taking behaviour(RSQ). Spiritual wellbeing (SIW) was high for males but not significant and appears as protective factor for those living with nuclear family.
